Contents: History: Network/Cities Covered: Clients and their industries: History: Dr. Christine Swihart received her Doctor of Chiropractic from Life College West in 1991. She worked as a chiropractor for several offices, including that of Nick Athens, the chiropractor for the San Francisco 49ers. When she felt she had enough experience, she purchased her own practice, Pacifica Chiropractors in Pacifica, California, in 1994. She spent several years building the business, and even created a health-related TV show on a local channel. Eventually, Christine became frustrated that she saw people only after they had already developed a problem from poorly-designed workstations, and could only do corrective work. She spent some time looking at possible ways to affect change prior to injuries reaching such severity. She eventually decided upon ergonomics consulting, sold Pacifica Chiropractors and received ergonomics training. She then worked with the Steele Foundation, a Concord, California firm specializing in risk assessment, to develop an ergonomic consulting business. Steele provides many other services, such as executive protection, risk assessment, information security and business investigations. She built the business up, working at several large clients and beginning to build a network of ergonomists in various cities nationwide. Eventually, both parties decided that ergonomics didn't fit the core capabilities of the Steele Foundation, so Christine agreed to buy ErgoDynamix in 2004. Since ErgoDynamix became a separate entity, the network of ergonomists has grown, as has the breadth of customer base.
